A practical development process

Fabric, fit and construction.
Developed together.

We develop the silhouette, materials and construction together, with practical production requirements considered from the start.

01 / REVIEW

Your design direction

Share your references. We clarify the silhouette and key details.

02 / MATERIALS

Fabric & trims

Explore suitable fabrics and trims, with availability and minimums checked.

03 / DEVELOPMENT

Pattern & sampling

Develop the pattern and first sample, then refine fit and construction.

04 / APPROVAL

Ready for production

Approve the sample and confirm grading and production details.

Technical development

Translate the idea into garment details.

Technical sketches establish the neckline, shoulder, sleeve, length and finishing direction. Fit references help align expectations before pattern and sample development.

Woven product development

Connect the fabric to the silhouette.

We consider stripe direction, pocket placement, collar shape and fabric drape alongside the intended fit. The examples below show different styles within our development portfolio. For a striped shirt, we review the following details:

Stripe & pocket direction

Agree the direction of the stripe across the body, sleeves and pockets, then check placement on the sample.

Fit & finishing

Review shoulder width, sleeve proportions and body ease alongside the collar, cuffs and hem. Record agreed adjustments before approving the production specification.

Planning your first sample

Start with a clear development brief.

What to send

Your sketches or reference images, preferred fabrics or compositions, target size range, estimated quantities per style and colour, and intended launch timing. An existing tech pack is helpful, but we can also discuss development from visual references.

What we confirm

Development scope, fabric and trim options, sample costs and an indicative schedule. Pattern work typically takes 7–10 working days; sampling typically takes 10–14 working days once the pattern and fabric are ready. Timing is confirmed by style complexity and material availability.
